ST. MATTHEW’S/ST. GEORGE’S WINS MARCH PAST
HOLY TRINITY WIN GAMES AT ANNUAL YOUTH SPORTS DAY
On May 30th the region of Trinidad and Tobago celebrated their annual sports day at the Ato Boldon Stadium. The event started at 9:00 am with Opening Prayer by His Grace Abune Thaddaeus Archbishop of the Caribbean and the Latin America who also took the salute of the march past with the Administrator of Trinidad and Tobago Lekke Kahanat Abraham Springer.
The day’s activities began with the judging of the march past. Five parishes participated with St. Matthew’s/St. George’s capturing the title.
The events continued with various sporting events with Holy Trinity, Port of Spain winning most of the prizes making them the champions of all sporting events.
Among the events were Clergy races where Deacon Tewolde Medhin Matas dominated the deacon’s event winning first place. Senior clergy (priest) had a walking race with Kes Gebre Selassie Bailey winning first place.
The day’s events came to a close at late evening.
